Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

I'm one of the few that's good with it. One more draft and the Marty experiment is over. Decent coach has them higher but what's the point? Might as well finish bottom 5 than bottom 10 or 15.
Just let his terrible coaching get you another pick. You don't need a better coach that will give you the new coach bump yet.
Play it right. Be complete sh*t.

Next one they'll want much more experience, so maybe Jim Montgomery is fired by Boston by then (He speaks French).

I'm surprised when i posted this before nobody was interested.

But basically, based on pre-covid percentages on current revenues, the cap probably 'should' have been around $95m this year, and likely 'should' be around $105m next year.

They might not jump it all the way to $105, because there's an 'agreement' not to hike it more than 5% each year, but it looks like that's negotiable and it's going to be a huge leap over this year's $88.

I guess the most important thing is that there will be a new cba for the 26-27 season which will reset the cap as a direct percentage of revenue, with the 5% per year thing irrelevant at that point.

So by the 26-27 season the cap will likely be in the $110-115 range no matter what.

So it's basically up the NHL if they want that big increase to all happen at once in 2yrs from now or if they want to spread out that bump over each the next two years.

So that article calculates the 26-27 cap, under a new CBA that has the same revenue split, as about $112m - which i think might actually be an underestimate based on revenue growth, but we'll go with that.

Pascal Vincent has Laval humming at 12-2 with many of our prospects. Something tells me he'll get the gig first.

Also Marty is such a nice guy he was the perfect distraction for the media. Unlike in Toronto the Habs media were eating his crap up. Only recently have they started questioning. So if this was a planned distraction, kudos to Hughes.

Yeah, Marty has gotten so much love since day 1.
