Generally franchise fast food sucks, yes. But as I hate it, drive-through with kids when you have a busy schedule is just so bloody convenient. I think w/o kids I would basically never go.

Yep. Tried the Big Arch once and I needed a full pack of napkins to get through it. And Ive also tried a double Big Mac. Same issue. Too difficult to eat without making a huge mess. Plus, they ALWAYS throw way too much shredded lettuce on them which adds to the mess.

So even though I always traditionally preferred Big Mac's I've ordered double quarter pounders almost exclusively for years now simply because they are less messy.
 
Drive thru has improved though, salad places, poke bowls etc. Doesn't have to be fully processed garbage anymore.

Anti-social car dependent drive-thru is actually a good thing if the closest McDonald's to you happens to be the one at Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue in Scarborough. No way am I getting out of my vehicle and walking inside that place. The panhandlers hanging out by the drive-thru window are bad enough as it is.

I do prefer the big mac over the quarter pounder, but nothing tops a whopper.

I needs mayo, lettuce and tomato on my burgers.

Tomatoes just make the burger more sloppy. That's why I also avoid the Wendy's Big Classic and judt go for a Dave's Double: no tomato.

I used to work with a woman who said that she went to Wendy's only once many years before and would never go back. When I asked why she replied "Square burgers? Nope. Not for me."
 
is shake shack any good i keep meaning to try but again it's just a fast food burger so i don't care that much.
