Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Staal agreed to be traded to "not buffalo", so as long as not buffalo came calling he would waive.

Dubas should be making the hall deal soon.

The kicker with Hall is he wants to go somewhere where he can get an extension.

That at the present time is not the Leafs

Feel like you could make a pretty good case that you're simply not going to get anything remotely close to a good extension based on what you did in Buffalo and playing on a line with either Matthews/Marner or Tavares/Nylander in a playoff run might help your numbers.

You'd literally have the Dregers of the world going "8 million!? 9 million?? 10 million!? 15 million???" with every goal.

I'm sure he does but he has to earn that first.

he's going to have to do a short term deal first to pump the numbers back up and re-establish value.

he’s a ufa anyway - can get a contract in 3 months ir whatever - don’t see why he should care vs a team he can win with to build up his value again

If Hall had to pick a place, he'd pick Toronto for maximum point fluffage so he could erase the market's memory of his work in Buffalo.

That's interesting. Every year we have underperforming potentially high level players on the market and the narrative is for them to join a already good team to up their value. Now it's the leafs turn, and narrative is for the player to go where he can resign?

He will go where ever the sabres trade him.

Why would hall risk having to stay? And why would the sabres accommodate a player without long ties to the team?

Look at what just happened with Eric Staal. By all reports, this guy had zero interest in going to any Canadian team, and even had the Habs on his no-trade list. But when presented with an opportunity to get the fuck out of Buffalo ASAP, he jumped at it.

I'd be surprised if it's not the same with Hall at this point.
