Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

No indoor eating, but every day 20+ kids in a class eat their lunch indoors. Grade 1's don't wear masks with any consistency, and I've had 6 positive cases last week alone 4 parents and two kids,

I'm still getting daily covid announcements from my kid's school. It's why I kept mine remote learning. Have you been vaccinated?

No....I'm a principal now and there have been no updates as to when teachers are to be vaccinated. The govt is also messing things up here by having four months pass before people get their second dose. I'd rather wait my turn and have the elderly get their two doses and then me get my two doses when ready.
Right now my inlaws are getting their second dose in July. Wtf

This doesn't make sense. Even in wild west Florida the teachers and first responders got vaccinated first before any of us outside nursing homes.

This is astonishing but also not. Ford's a total fucking moron and, as you said, doesn't give two shits about teachers.

I never understood that hiring.

maybe they were hoping for a Babcock kinda thing - get the young players “in-line” with his veteran presence/respect already earned from team cause of past credentials

but most of the new age hockey world (not hockey talking heads) would see this coming from a mile away

It's almost like the game has changed. They gave him 3 years too.

6% shooting, .885% goaltending over that stretch. Hard to look good with that.

With that said...19th in xGF%, so it's not like they've been any good under Sutter even with the trash shooting and goaltending.

Recent "#1 goalie" contracts and the results so far:

Bobrovsky ($10.0 x7): 2yrs, 71gms, .902
Gibson ($6.4 x8): 2yrs, 75gms, .902
Markstrom ($6.0 x6): 1yrs, 27gms, .901
Murray ($6.3 x4): 1yrs, 22gms, .880
Fleury ($7.0 x3): 2yrs, 74gms, .911 <--- average starter
Lehner ($5.0 x5): 1yrs, 9gms, .912
Varlamov ($5.0 x4): 2yrs, 71gms, .916 <--- legit above average starter
Rinne ($5.0 x2): 2yrs, 54gms, .897
Koskinen ($4.5 x3): 2yrs, 58gms, .912 <--- average tandem
Holtby ($4.3 x 2): 1yrs, 12gms, .894

Of all those guys, only 1 has given his team legit above average starting performance overall.

Maybe learn a lesson here guys.

Man, lucky Travis Boyd.

The Canucks claim him on waivers and then proceed to infect him with Covid before he even gets into a game with them.

Looks like the Canucks AHL team have had their last 10 games cancelled due to their players getting COVID so... not sure help is coming from there or should be.
