Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Giving up a 1st for Rakell smells like a mistake to me. Two good season turned into a reputation there somehow, while 3 thoroughly mediocre seasons to follow those up haven't done much to tarnish it. 40 goals in his last 171 games (19 goal pace) despite getting 1st line ice.
 
I'm not opposed to giving up a late first either. I briefly had hopes that some of the top guys would go for less but I kinda doubt it after seeing the Savard deal. If that's the price for a guy you think is a Top 6 winger, you pay it IMO. We've got four really fucking good prospects and nerd will probably find another in the second.
 
Id have no problem giving up the first for the rental. This draft is a crapshoot and the Leafs are all in anyway.

foligno is a good player that fits in with the type of players they have been trying to add this season.
 
This Nylander covid thing may have sprung an entirely new lineup option:

Galchenyuk-Matthews-Marner
Mikheyev-Tavares-Hyman
XXXXXX-Kerfoot-Nylander

With the option to flip willy up top on a super line.

Note- this was imo maybe Keefe's biggest playoffs mistake last year - if he wanted a superline it should have been willy up there with Tavares centering that 2nd line with two good grinding wingers.
 
Also the Nylander this stresses just how important getting another forward is. Who knows if a guy or two will have to quarantine at some point in the playoffs.

Foligno's not my first choice, but him at 50% retained probably allows us to pick up a depth D and a G without too much cap fuss.
 
Unless someone unexpected becomes available I think Foligno is #1b behind Hall for me at this point.

then Iafallo. Big drop off after that IMO but I’m prob forgetting someone.
