Well I think people care about the NHL playoffs too and I find that almost as unwatchable. I just like watching good, fun hockey, particularly when I don't give much of a shit about who wins. The World Cup brought that in a MAJOR way. Maybe it makes me a cool sweet ass hipster contrarian but that's how I've always viewed it.

The comp is so uneven in the Olympics that most of the games are a snooze fest. I feel like because of the one and done nature of the medal rounds people think the games are better than they are. Also, Canadians love them because it's the only male team sport we are good at on an international level.
