Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

We tend to get a little loony here at times. I do think there's some evidence that when Greg Campbell played on Boston, Colin's influence impacted some things in favor of Boston. I recall there being some emails thrown around by Colin strongly implying preferential treatment for Boston. I have no explanation why that would continue today though.

Yeah, it's a good thing he's not a high ranking league executive anymore. Be hard to trust anyone with his track record of fuckery in a position of power with the league.

Im a little surprised how those emails were shrugged off by everyone. The media didn't seem to care but to me that seemed like a bombshell story. Those were way more interesting than Hillary's emails at least.

Hes been a greaseball at the league office for years. Hes the guy who led the charge to push Shanny out because heaven forbid someone actually gets punished for trying to commit life altering injuries during the run of play....also was the unnamed "league exec" who tried to shame John Scott out of playing in the all star game like the all star game actually matters and isn't already a fucking sideshow. Hes a massive part of the rot at the core of the league.

Seriously, how deeply fucked is your organization if someone doesn't lose their job over that?
It's always been a good ole boy network. More specifically white good ole boy with some tokens thrown in. They just got more clandestine, nothings really changed.

Thats what gets me. We have actual evidence that they're an insular old boys network that will do greasy shit whenever they deem it necessary....but if we ever suggest that such an organization has biases that can alter the competitive balance of a game, we're crazy.

No, but saw highlights and heard a lot about him as a kid. Check out his NHL goal totals from rookie year to retirement.

53, 69, 51, 68, 64, 60, 51, 58, 61, 38 (forced to retire due to back issues).

Yeah, I saw a little piece the NHL Network did on him this morning. I think they said 570 goals in 10 seasons, which comes out to a pretty crazy average.

He said he wanted more money on his initial contract, but Torrey wouldn't cave, so his agent said try proposing that if you hit 50 goals, you'll get paid more. Torrey was like, "you think you're gonna score 50? Maybe try making the team first". He made the team and scored 50.

And yeah, Bossy said his back was bad that he could only play half the games if he continued, but if he couldn't play all of them, he didn't want to play at all. Interesting. I have to say, most highlights of "star" players from back in the day don't impress me - goalies are swiss cheese, dmen are scrawny and let you get by them easily, the shots are whatever. But Bossy's highlights look legit, like he'd be a star even in today's game.

He looked so old for his age, though. Did they even say what he died from?

Shots 39-14 and Isles up 2-0. Sounds about right.

Frenemy and his constant "we haven't had Price all year!" arguments will be funny if this holds up.
