He won't unless Woll and Hidelby both bust and suck balls. And/or injuries happen. He's a body with NHL experience. That's it. No team wants their #3/4 goalie to play NHL games. It's never the plan. It happens all the time and it's okay in a pinch, but it's never the plan.

The right evaluation of this move is to not react at all and continue getting drunk on patios and enjoying the summer. They signed an AHL depth goalie because it was a position they needed to fill for a year. It's gonna be ok.

Do we think they're going to waive Woll? In favor of this guy? Is that the fear? If so, the anxiety would make sense. But tbh that seems so insane to me that it did not cross my mind.

Basically only way he gets games is if Samsonov is hurt and BOTH Hidelby and Woll are grossly disappointing and basically unplayable. Possible, but still not sure why we'd expect a better goalie from a Marlies tandem guy with Hidelby. No fucking shit he's a horse shit goalie. It would be newsworthy and worth reacting strongly to if he wasn't.

Didn't we all say similar shit before numbnuts buried Sandin & Lilly repeatedly, eventually leading to one of them getting traded for reasons?

I don't trust the organization to not fuck it up. They haven't earned the right to be trusted with player development.

I mean on that basis you ought to universally dislike every decision they make that isn’t firing Keefe.

Which is fair, I’d support that.

Still feels like if we're going to win anything, we're going to do it in spite of him.

He truly sucks, but is so damn lucky he fluked into coaching a team right out of the gate that can finish top five in the regular season in its sleep.

I have no concerns about Keefe playing veterans though. Playing kids though, we have a pretty legit track record showing his unwillingness to do it.
