Around the League 2019-2025 Edition

J Rob was damn good for Dallas woth key timely goals. I wonder if they'd be interested in Nicky just to have the brothers together. We should make that happen.

Rantanen is easily worth his deal. The one concern for Dallas is they need to add to their D going forward and used big assets on Rantanen

Rantanen for 12 million of a 120+ million dollar cap in 3-4 years is going to be a steal.

I don't think some of y'all quite get where the money is about to go in this league.

e.g. Makar will need a new deal in 27-28

ouf

Mack's deal was 15.09% of the cap. Cap is expected to be 113.5M for 27-28. If Makar gets something in that Mack range....16-17M AAV

The numbers are going to be real big soon, and if we (or anyone) can go hard now and get who they want locked up for the next 5+ years at numbers that seem a bit heavy under today's cap, just fucking do it.

It had already started a little bit, with some teams just not able to get to the cap in the 80's, but it's going to turn into a more common thing over the next few seasons. 2027-28 has an expected max of 113.5 and a min cap of 83.9 million. That's a big spread.

Get knies done for 8x8

A bit rich for my tastes considering his role and production so far, but there are worse ways to spend the money.
A 30/30 (let's not be pedantic and say 29/29) power forward who is 22 is the type of player you pay a premium to make sure he is locked up during his prime (and the contract ends when he likely starts to fall apart).

On a 3 year deal he is probably 5-6 mil.

Whether it's 7 or 8 on a longterm deal it largely doesn't mean anything beyond setting your rosters cap structure and hierarchy. But yeah 8 is a bit rich and over market value.
