To beat the Panthers you cannot play from behind. Allowing the first goal (and second) is a recipe for losing. While not all Skinner goals were trash, there were enough to put the Oilers on their heels and the Oilers aren’t a team that can play from behind against a structured D.

Panthers were the better team no doubt but Skinner consistently put the Oilers behind the 8 ball.

Ditch Rodrigues, get them all to sign at marginal discounts - i.e. $7m each on average. Get Marchand's caphit down by signing him into his 40s.

Regimes have fucked this up royally and it has nothing to do with location

Team was handed top pick after top pick and never built properly around them

Bad contracts to Nurse etc.... a decade of miscue after miscue

Stupidity of all teams trading good draft capital for plugs

Team needed speed , size and youth and didnt keep Holloway , Broberg and McLeod all on the cheap

Broberg and Holloway are firable fuckups letting 2 solid players walk for rejects like Skinner and Arvidson who got benched when it mattered
