Could be wrong because it happens fast, but it looks like he commited to the dive before that and flopped into the stick as it came up. Plus the whole writhing around trying to sell it was a bit much.

Consider when he #gotrocked by Hagel in round 1, he got up so quick that Habs fans claimed he didn't get hit at all.
