Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

I might be alone in this but I prefer a team that over 20 years makes the playoffs each year without winning the Cup over one that wins the Cup one year but misses the playoffs the 19 others.

Playoff revenue is fine when your a playoff team

Count wants us to sweep the rests of the games so we draft 11th
when did I write that? I don't watch wanting them to lose, shoot me. If you ever went to a game, you would cheer when we scored. Wehave wanted us to win every game he went to see.

I have no problem with the rebuild. Count is the guy demanding playoff appearances, not me.
I never demanded, I expect them to try to make the post season. You live in fear of losing. Remember you wanted us to miss in 2021 out of fear of losing to Toronto.

BTW I'm still waiting for your response as to the last time we got in and were "annihilated" in the first round.

Wins and being competitive is a few years away in the conference

For now compete, develop kids and lose a few more games , patience will be rewarded .

I cheer for goals at the Bell Center but 1 more for the opponent

Habs are in great position as Caps, Pens , etc.... are headed for the decline

I think we have it pretty stress-free for standings position rest of the way - in comparison to others.

Watching a Sharks fan half-heartedly applaud shutting out the Jets, knowing he should be happy...but you could tell his thoughts were also on the standings and that the win saw them leapfrog both Columbus & Chicago.

Losing = annihilation. You get the same thing from losing in the finals as you do from losing in the first round: nothing.

The one championship makes the other 19 years worthwhile. In the other scenario you just have 2 decades of failure. I don't fall for the trap of arguing degrees of failure. First round or game 7 of the finals, all failure is the same.

Unlike you, I enjoy hockey seasons when my team is competitive even if they don’t win the Cup. I enjoy meaningful games as they’re chase the playoffs or play in them. I’ve only watched a handful of games in the last 2 seasons and it’s not been enjoyable even though I’m onboard with the process. If I had 19 of those I’d probably stop caring completely like I did with the Expos and baseball in general.

while i get your point in jest, but in fact, each team that makes the finals has WON the conference trophy and a banner they can raise to the ceiling..
In Montreal we don't hang divisional or conference "championship" banners. We aren't the Canucks. You get banners for Cups and only Cups.

I remember back in the 80's when the Habs won the second round they received "Adams Division Champions" t-shirts in the dressing room after the game. Red Fisher wrote in the Gazette that the shirts were 100% cotton so that the players could use them to wash their cars with.

Oilers shit-pumped the Ducks 6 nil. The top 4 players are all having career seasons at the same time. Draisaitl (who, like McDavid is also better than Matthews) scored a hatty including his 50th, his 3rd 50 goal season. McDavid with #62. Hyman at 80 points, and the Nuge is at 97 points. Even Campbell didn't shit the bad last night and Kane hasn't once behaved like an imbecile off the ice.
