No, decent in regard to their rosters, both of which are developmentally ahead of ours.
well Buffalo has missed the playoffs for 13 years so I would hope they were ahead of us developmentally but that is still a pretty developmentally delayed rebuild
as for Ottawa, they can thank us for taking Mole instead of the douche but even at that, they have not been in the post season since 2017
To me, Buffalo and the Rangers represent the extremes on each end of the spectrum in terms of rebuild rapidity. Neither the Eichel disaster, which is highly atypical, nor the Panarin and Fox "hostage situations," is the the norm in a rebuild. We'll likely fall somewhere in between those two.
True, but he's not a star like Panarin or a superstar like Fox. He's solid.

Again why do you keep pimping playoff appearances as though they mean anything? I don't care that we squeaked into the playoffs a couple of times and the Sabres or Sens didn't. The only thing that matters is that none of us won a damn thing that matters. First place or last, playoffs or no playoffs, if you don't finish with a championship your season has been a pathetic failure.
I don't care if the Habs make the playoffs right now because even if they somehow managed to get in they would do nothing. They would win nothing. I don't want to mortgage the future for a one round playoff appearance. If we aren't a Cup contender I'd prefer to be a bottom feeder. Anything but in the dreaded middle of the pack where we will be mediocre for a decade.
