Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

The issue is age.

The younger crowd doesn't remember the visceral feeling of hate in the 60s and 70s.

Truth be told I was alive but young so I have my vivid memories in the seventies and that was pure Bruins hatred.

Exactamundo. I’m too young to instinctively loathe the Laffs. As my hockey neurons connected, TML were sad and weird and in the other conference. Less relevant than the Minnesota North Stars (and Bobby Smith), the first team I recall eliminating the Habs in the playoffs.

It was the Bruins, plain and simple, with a smattering of the Nordiques, Sabres and idiot Flyers, the meatiest of meatheads.

If you are a true Mtl’er, anything T-dot related has to be filled with visceral hate at the highest imaginable magnitudes….

Same. If anything Ottawa was more annoying than Toronto as they got a lot of bandwagon fans from supposedly Habs fans and Nordiques.

If you lived your whole life sharing the hockey space with Leaf fans (for me Ottawa first , before the Senators , then Toronto) its easy to know why you just wish they would go away ASAP , every year. So far its worked out pretty well.

Why? Toronto doesn’t bother me. Maybe it’s an Anglo thing? Not sure.
Shit-hole central only became what it did because of Mtl exodus influence - it always has been and shall always remain shit hole central till the end of time… as such making the hate visceral

Yeah I don't have to deal with that. Only at the arena. In public nobody gives a shit.

Honestly it's so bad, I dont watch any Toronto based morning news on TV until the Leafs are losing and/or out. Half the news is the Leafs, what kind of journalism is that?

They were pretty much interchangeable this season. Didn't miss a step.

Could be for mojo or could be that Ullmark is tired, they managed his time in the regular season, he's now played six grueling games in a row. Probably does need a rest at this point making Swayman the more logical play.

In this day and age it’s easy to avoid the Toronto media (which is tiresome and navel-gazing).

Anyway, I dislike the Jays more than TML. The Raptors solicit the same reaction in me as a light bulb sale at Canadian Tire.
