Maybe this seasons Vézina performance was simply an illusion / the creation of a team on a seasons long roll doing a good job protecting their goalies?Yeah, it’s been Buffalo Ullmark. He’s been brutal.
Could be.Maybe this seasons Vézina performance was simply an illusion / the creation of a team on a seasons long roll doing a good job protecting their goalies?
That's right. So why does HNIT and the rest of the national media wank over the Leafs?first round wins are meaningless, you said ao, therefore who cares that 97 won a series
You also missed the pure joy of eliminating the Leafs in 4 straight, two years in a row, in 78 and 79. Oh what a time to.be alive and living in Southern Ontario. I rubbed every Leafs fan's nose in shit and it was joyous.Exactamundo. I’m too young to instinctively loathe the Laffs. As my hockey neurons connected, TML were sad and weird and in the other conference. Less relevant than the Minnesota North Stars (and Bobby Smith), the first team I recall eliminating the Habs in the playoffs.
It was the Bruins, plain and simple, with a smattering of the Nordiques, Sabres and idiot Flyers, the meatiest of meatheads.
I appreciate that there are some knowledgable Leaf fans, who know hockey and the winning culture that existed there prior to 1967. But feel good for even them? Nah....it just wouldn't be right. They would probably feel the same, and distrust the motives of Habs fans who felt that way.
After they stopped winning, silliness began The media and fans blowing up every small Leaf victory like they had won something. Lanny McDonald knocking out the Islanders in the 70s(that Leaf team was another all time great NHL team of course, and exited the playoffs shortly after. And the Islanders hadn't even started their run). That team still gets referenced regularly, along with the 93 team, and no doubt as will the 2023 edition, even if they never win another game.
I'll wait and rejoice their next loss, or tip my hat if they win it all as I did in 1967.
Ok enough. It was one fucking series. Sure it took 19 years to happen, but it was one series.
Habs board dude.Ok enough. It was one fucking series. Sure it took 19 years to happen, but it was one series.
True, but point of order. The response was in response to the video.Habs board dude.
Yes “usual route”….Will there be a parade in Toronto on Monday to officially honor the team for their tremendous accomplishment?
How about 28th then? One thing is for sure. It won't be mid 20s.
Yup - did the dirty work & took one for the GM, which means it was planned & deliberate - even though it came out as knee jerkRick Bowness just said out-loud what the whole organization thought down low and didn't have the balls to say, honestly.
It's so sad, isn't it?Oh oh Baw-stunned!
