Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Jamie Drysdale might turn into something, but he's already gotten a string of injuries (18 games played in the last two years) and he wasn't lighting the league on fire before that.

But Anaheim's got the best group of young forwards in the league.

I really wish we could have figured out a way to get in on that action.

See above. We apparently could have.

I do wonder if Gauthier acquisition make Ana more amenable to trading Zegras?

Gauthier is a “little ball of hate” Verbeek type player, Zegras definitely isn’t to begin with

Gauthier didn’t want to play for Tortorella.
Tortorella was already hired when Gauthier was drafted. Briere said that Gauthier told them he was made to be a Flyers on draft day.

It's interesting that we liked Reinbacher more than Gauthier. It would have fit the philosophy of trading picks for already drafted young players, I think an elite winger was also more of a need for us than a dman, although we do need a guy with #1 dman potential.

We'll see but Bobrov's history in NY has me worried that we missed out.
