Around The League - 2025 Offseason

I wish the Habs could have played as dirty against Washington.

Pickard will start Game 4 and the Oilers will go on a 3 game win streak now.

Definitely overpaid and not a number 1 D but 35 point (no PP time) with decent advanced stats is actually good

The Oilers are back again to where they usually end up with Skinner. Wondering if he's good enough for a few games. That's the thing with him-he plays some good hockey, then reverts suddenly. Leaving everyone wondering if he can find good again for 3-4 games.

There's a lot of "Well, its not all on Skinner" talk going on again among the pundits.. That may be true. But those lines are so familiar, and we've heard them off and on it seems since forever. That's a problem.

It isn't all Skinner but his save percentage last night was well below .800. That simply isn't credible. His overall average in the playoffs is around. 900, which is really just mediocre, and it's skewed because for several periods his teammates were able to hold opponents to 3 or 4 shots. Any goalie can win if you limit the shots to such a degree. Fuck, even a Zamboni driver can have a good game. But you can't expect every 3rd period to be played entirely at the other end of the rink.

face it, when 97 and 29 don't produce, the Oilers are barely a playoff team. They did nothing last night and the team got punked. 93 is playing like Inge Hammarstrom, could play holding eggs under his arms, and they would come out unbroken. Other than Perry, the forwards on the Oilers are meh.

If the Panthers keep covering 97 and 29, the season might be over by Saturday.

Virtually every player on the Oilers roster is contributing. It's not a one or two man show by any means. As for 93, he was a game time decision last night as he is playing hurt. Hyman, who had 111 hits at the time of his injury, also isn't there. Thats a huge loss.

But again, none of this matters if your goalie is letting in 3 or 4 goals for every 10 or 11 shots faced. No team overcomes that.

Agreed but their supporting cast is the biggest reason they are in the finals this year

Depth scoring minus 29, 97 and Bouchard scored 50 playoff goals......cant ask for anything more

last night was a total team collapse
