Yeah, I'm somewhat like that. I didn't watch last night and didn't know the outcome (figured it had the potential of souring the night if the Leafs won, and I was tired of the media drama anyway). So I stuck on the half hour recap version this morning.
Still, two shit kickings by Florida over the Leafs just days apart was rather pleasant.

Their fans will get over it. They may even hold a parade for this team some day, like they did years later for the 92-93 Leaf team to celebrate that team almost getting to the Stanley Cup finals.

Do you really think that the Leafs don't make the playoffs without Marner? Maybe they don't win the division, but there's no way they fail to make the playoffs. So while he could help A team make the playoffs, THIS team doesn't need him for that. What THIS team needs him for is to win playoff games. So if he doesn't do that then he's a waste.

Stolarz getting hurt, Tavares getting concussed after being kneed in the head….Make Beliefs have a case of bad luck + they’re simply not built for the grind of playoff hockey.
Oilers have shoddy G, and their best Dman out, and by all accounts will surprise no one if the knock out Stars to make the Cup finals

Make Beliefs needed a vet playoff pedigree and “hair on his butt” to guide & teach the core-4 in their formative NHL years..
