East has 7 of the top 10 teams in the league. Atlantic alone has 5. There is no easy paths in the East.
There are no clear cut heavyweights , Habs can hang with any of them at the top of our game

There is no clear cut heavyweights in the league in general. Colorado is 3-5-2 in last ten and I doubt would have the same record in the East.
None of the other Western team is significantly better than those in the East.
