Neely has wanted a reason to fire Julien since 2011 and he would have if the Habs had won that series. But after Julien won the Cup Neely was stuck with him so he systematically stripped him of his ability to win by making dumb trades.

I'm not convinced this is going to work out how everyone thinks it will. We still have a very weak set of prospects and we just got a HC who was fired a week ago. If he was so amazing he wouldn't have been let go.

I hated Dauterive the first time he was our coached (RC part deux) but it is arguable now we have the best HC in the division. Can't complain.

I never enjoy a guy getting fired but it had to happen.

this myth that Therrien was holding the young players back is flawed

he helped a lot of players come along
so did julien

some were fails for both


and in the pros and cons for both there were a lot of factors, natural maturing, asst coachings, line mates, raw skill, etc

that said I do think julien can help players improve but mostly I think he will help the team improve defensively with a legit system

I still think Quinville is the best.

Julien is in the fight for 3-5 IMO.

Of course now Julien doesn't have the luxury of immunity from the league.
