The great thing about Dex is that it's already a generic, so it shouldn't have to cost the patient $10,000 per dose here in the USA. The key word here being "shouldn't."

Do any of you season ticket holders/plan holders have any concerns returning back to the arena to watch hockey? We are an older couple (50+) with underlying conditions and part of what we like about hockey is the group of folks we sit with-- also older folks who have underlying conditions. What have your discussion have been like? Have any of you put a freeze on your accounts? Still paying full freight? What about any thoughts of dropping from full to partial?? Or have any of you decided you like the stay at home life?

Yes ... I have concerns. I've got serious misgivings about venturing too much into the literally great unwashed until there's better treatment options and at least the hope of an effective vaccine. I've been out and about enough to see how seriously people are taking public health concerns and I'm not encouraged that any large public events (or even medium sized events) can be safely managed at this point. Maybe that changes with time, but I'm firmly in the wait and see camp for now.

For now, I'm still paying installments on my 2020-21 ticket plan with the Hurricanes, but we'll just have to see where this all goes before I'm actually planning to be in a large public gathering of any kind.

Yea, I’m also just hanging loose as those installments ring up. Gotta say though that by end of the summer, I’d rather be holding my money instead of them if it’s not clear where things are heading.

I have similar concerns, and to this point, my wife and I have been avoiding all but the most necessary trips out in public. Working remotely has been feasible for both of us. I can't see attending events with large crowds until the numbers improve significantly.

Our social life has been limited to virtual happy hours with large groups of friends around the country, plus the occasional outdoor, appropriately-socially-distanced, bring-your-own happy hours with one other couple at a time on our deck or their deck. This Saturday we're taking a big step forward by having two couples come over for happy hour!

The big news, however, is that Polar informed everyone this morning that the adult leagues are restarting during the week of June 28th. The announcement was accompanied by a long list of new safety protocols that they are putting in place, and at this point, I think I'm going to return to the ice with my team. My plan is to put on most of my gear before I head to the rink and take most of it off when I get home, minimizing my time in the locker room. I also just ordered a full face shield for my helmet; I figure that will give me a lot more protection than the cage I normally wear, especially since I don't think I can play wearing a mask.

I have serious concerns, but I'm paying the installments. I'm 50+ and in good health, but if the current rate of infection persists to opening day and the treatment options are the same as today (i.e., non-existent), I can't see attending games under those conditions unless the arena is maybe limited to 10% capacity ... maybe.

We got the refund on the playoff tickets and the balance of the regular season. I have a freeze on my account because I am not certain what's going to happen, but don't want to see them sit on money, when I can sit on it.... So yes, we are playing wait and see at this time, but I am not certain I have a lot of confidence in a vaccine/cure/treatment for this nasty virus. We are generally healthy, but given our age and a bit of hypertension, we are keeping a small footprint. We've done some social distancing with friends, but no dining out and limited trips to stores/shopping. I've gotten my hair cut and have been to my physician, but given the number of people not wearing masks, not maintaining physical distancing and just the general attitude of many, I'm not all that comfortable these days and trusting others with my health is not something I am want to do.

We have concerns, we both turn 60 in a few weeks. We’ve made bi-weekly supermarket runs since the stay at home order started and ventured out to restaurants the last 3 weekends though. But Vivace, 41nd Street Oyster Bar and Sullivan’s have all done a good job relocating the tables and Spacing things out. If you’ve ever been to the latter 2, you know how the tables are typically cheek by jowl, but not now. We went to our neighbor’s pool last weekend and are driving to Charlotte to visit friends this weekend. Our Charlotte trips are usually an excuse to visit multiple breweries, but not this time, we’re going to enjoy our adult beverages on their deck or around the fire pit.

We’re on the installment plan and will continue to do so, the credit for the unplayed games took nearly 20% off the monthly payment. I figure the league isn’t going to start up again until November/December, so we’ll see what happens with treatments/vaccines by then.

Concerned definitely. We are still paying on our account, waiting and watching. Luckily my ticket-sharing friend and I are, so far, on the same page. Can't see us returning to business-as-usual going to the arena though until something big changes in the landscape either with the disease or the protocols or both.

We went to see Les Mis at DPAC in March the night the Rudy Gobert shit hit the NBA fan the day before the sports world closed up shop, and while I still enjoyed the show, I was really creeped out by how close the guy next to me was, and that was before the spread was known to hit locally and how bad it was going to get. Knowing what we know now, and how close-quarters PNC is..... ugh.

I got similar beer league communication from Polar as Kurtz did except with me playing at RCI, we're not starting back up end-June, we'll be moving directly to WCC late July when it's projected to be available. Although I was surprised to read in the league update that RCI still had ice and was still functional, held that way as insurance in case the Canes need it, even though we beer-leaguers won't be going back. I guess the reported (completed) cannibalization of RCI equipment to bring up WCC was a bit overstated. Gotta look into that full face shield.... and my team has a looong history of bringing a full cooler and sticking around in the locker room an hour and a half, 2 hours after games; guess that'll change for a while.

I definitely have concerns and will continue to have them until everyone is vaccinated with a proven vaccine. Without a vaccine, the entire process of attending games at PNC arena will have to be different. They won't be able to crowd in 18k for anything. More like 4k or less, which means that your full season ticket is going to end up a partial season ticket just out of necessity. How that all might work remains to be seen.

I'm still committed to my full season tickets for 20-21 with an understanding that without a vaccine, we might only be allowed to attend a quarter to half of the games with masks required and no queuing up for anything (ie food will likely be ordered and paid for via an app on your phone and you will get a ping to go pick it up when its ready).

New Zealand was covid-free for at least two weeks. Foreigners have been allowed in but required to spend a two-week quarantine in a hotel. However, two women from the UK were granted compassionate leave from their quarantine to visit a dying relative. Guess what happened?

NOT jumping you here ... just pontificating

I've seen a fair amount of public pining to "be like New Zealand" or "shame we couldn't do whatever New Zealand is doing" of late and take the opportunity to point out that New Zealand is roughly the size of Florida and half of Georgia with one third the population of that area. A tiny, isolated, island nation with a fairly modern society and exactly one large city (Aukland ... 1.5-ish million) and a handful of medium sized cities. The 10th largest city in New Zealand has a population of 50-something thousand. Other than speaking the English language (for the most part anyway) we have next to nothing in common demographically with New Zealand.

also they are mostly European background (70%) like we are (76% including Hispanics) but we are not as Euro as we used to be. In 2045 it is projected the US will be less than 50% Euro. That counts Hispanic as non white.

No argument here. My point in posting it is how difficult it is to keep a lid on it.
