Worst conference , an 18 place team made the playoffs in a revamped empty building schedule

Division was decimated with injuries/ covid ... Flames and Nucks needed 2-3 weeks just to finished the season and save face

This was a video game season for non caliber playoff teams like us , smoke and mirrors .

Got hot , catch the right breaks anything was doable in that format .

A juiced up Price and a team D that played out of their minds

Our offensive stats are the worst of any team that ever made the finals or ever will

No one came lose to a point a game , no double digit gal scorer , D scored 4 goals and your leading MPG forward scores 1 goal

Not taking anything away from their effort but this was totally and one of even unless Covid 2023 strikes again and Buthead gives lifelines to terrible flawed rosters .

Bullshit. Us making the playoffs was some luck because of a weak division but you work with the card that you've been dealt. Our playoff run was not luck. We played great, everyone was contributing, and it wasn't Price stealing games like Halal, even though he played great. We deserved those wins.

This is like a 5-11 Jets team going to the Superbowl because a schedule was revamped to play 7 games and they go 2-5

My point is the team was a flawed mirage , maybe the worst final participant you will ever see

Our suckage now is a continuation of 2019 when we were gifted a playoff lifeline even with our injuries and covid

TB lost an entire third line and Point and Kuch were hurt and they are still contenders with all their issues this year .

I'm not talking about the roster, just the fact that we everyone played beautifully for over 2 months. Brushing it off as pure luck and horseshoe is insulting and demeaning to the players. Nothing was stolen, we didn't get carried by pure luck, we won the first three series by playing harder and better than our opponents.

Also the roster from last year has nothing to do with this one. We lost 2 of our top 3 centers, 2 of our top 4 defensemen, and both goalies.

Marty is not even taking a bigger risk. He has zero expectations and no existing coaching pedigree to ruin. He can suck and still go back to do what he was doing, or take an assistant coach. No one would ever blame him for not fixing this shit show.

I wouldn’t say he has zero expectations — it’s a very high profile and tiring gig to subject yourself to on an idle whim. But maybe he’s being groomed for an office slot and this is his crash course in player evaluation
