I mostly agree but it’s more a testament to the weakness of the West. I could see Oettinger being a problem for the Oil I guess.Any time your strategy depends on which way the whistle goes, you're in trouble

The problem is this is just not a choice you’re allowed to make. The key to beating Edmonton is simply not taking a lot of penalties. They don't seem to be able to beat good teams when limited to 5v5

Yeah they definitely aren’t keeping up the current rate. We’ll see how things go next series with their 5v5 numbers. To a degree, sure. But if you're giving up 3-4 PPs a game against Edmonton and losing, that's on you. Hold them to 30% on the PP and then whip them 5v5.
60% PP success is simply not sustainable through 4 rounds
Wasn’t this the case with most of the west teams though?LA had a 97 point pace against the east this year.

The Oilers just basically beat the Islanders.
Meh.

I think LA had basically no expectations which probably helped ease the pressure for them a bit though.

Speaking of semi-heroic goaltending…take out the first blowout game and the rest of the way Sammy had a .919.
