For Borje - The Toronto Maple Leafs 2023 Stanley Cup Champions Thread

sammy did let in that back breaking softie in game 5.

but he showed the fuck up in game 6 which is something we simply haven't seen from one of our goalies in an elimination game.

As angry as I was about that bad goal at the time and at how jittery he became after it, I’m impressed as hell that he set that aside and gave a dominant performance in the next game—an elimination game no less.

Jack would’ve still been self-flagellating for the bad goal by the time the puck dropped for game six. And Fred would’ve either faked an injury to get out of playing or played and served up more freshly-baked muffins.

Those lines are all wrong for that team iirc.

So much this. I clowned that all year after every 3v3 loss.

Regular season OT means literally nothing, but playoff OT underlines why being an elite 5v5 team is so important. You're probably going to have to scrape together 5v5 goals to win those in the playoffs.
The sport doesn't need gimmicks sure but teams were playing to go to the SO. Ever since they brought that in OT got messed up.

Shit is seriously coming up Millhouse for us so far, isn't it? The only two teams worth fearing in a playoff series are out. We're now in here with a bunch of perennial choke jobs and kids.

This is us right now to the rest of the EC playoff bracket

Now, I repeat my playoff mantra before I get ahead of myself. The Leafs have proven that they can lose to absolutely anyone, anytime, anywhere. But if their balls just did drop...well fuck.

Last two games vs Florida weren't great. But they were desperate and the leafs didn't give a fuck. Panthers took the nerdies, though it seems ZAR, Kampf and Lafferty were the only true weak spots in those games.

The game before that, the leafs dominated. And once again, zarfferty were their only weak spots. So hopefully they don't play.

Leafs in 7. This will be tough match up, similar to Leafs/Sharks in 1994. Panthers are full of confidence. I expect the Leafs to get it done in game 7 this time

Hope they stick with our game 6 lineup.
