For Borje - The Toronto Maple Leafs 2023 Stanley Cup Champions Thread

EV xGF%

Gm1: 50.7%
Gm2: 50.0%
Gm3: 50.9%
Gm4: 57.9%

and that came from chopping about exactly one expected goal off of florida's average xg over the first 3gms. Leafs sacrificed a bit of offense to do it but not much.

of course, there's a Series Score Effect that isn't being included here, which unfortunately makes any numbers from last night pretty useless.

Are Brodie's nerdies as bad as the eye test. Seems like he's on the ice for every FLA even strength goal

the McCabe-Brodie nerdies have been decent but they've been on for a ton of goals. McCabe 6 ev goals and Brodie 5. Gio 2 Mo1 Schenn 1 Lilly 1 Holl 0 Gus 0.

Brodie also on the top PK unit so probably some goals there.

Also it was nice to see Liljegren finally get more than bit duty in a playoffs game - it only took an 0-3 deficit to make it happen.

And he played great, of course.

Hey look you can play kids in the playoffs.

Kills me that Keefe doesn't get it.

Every recent cup winner has had contributions from a group of 23-24 and under players. All of them.

In all seriousness it may be that this is the first time in his 15 years that he’s been utilized properly - relatively soft usage as a hang back guy next to a good puck mover.

That's fine. They'll need a jolt for game 6 anyway

this all seems a bit fishy to me.

I doubt he can do much of anything until he is symptom free. at the very least I assume no contact until then.

so if he's not even skating, he probably still has symptoms.

and then once he is symptom free, how long until he is cleared to return? and how long to get back up to speed?

They usually give it a few days of being symptom free before they skate at all. I don't really trust how the leafs or any professional sports team deals with concussions... But I'm in illogical neanderthal mode and want him in.

In addition to leading the NHL with 39 penalty minutes during the 2014 playoffs, Clifford also provided offense in big moments as Los Angeles won the Stanley Cup for the second time in three seasons. Clifford had two assists as the Kings beat the Anaheim Ducks 6-2 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals. He had a goal and an assist in Game 1 of the 2014 Stanley Cup Final against the New York Rangers, then assisted on Alec Martinez's championship-clinching, double-overtime goal in Game 5.
