#ForBorje - GDT #1: TOR v TBL 23/4/18 7:30 - HERE. WE. GO.

gotta rest up Matty and Mucho after playing them 23 mpg+ down the stretch so we could dress 9 D.

I fucking hate this organization.

We spend decades not having the type of elite players that grow into winners. Then we get them and because they didn't immediately win, we're going to spend every year until they leave us putting them in the worst position possible for them to win.

Keefe is not a good playoff coach. He overthinks everything, he reacts to what the other team does, he’s emotional and he sucks with the media.

and....his personal life is currently harming the team. I have no doubt that McCauley (who is already a terrible ref) has a bias against Keefe and by extension the Leafs. The evidence is pretty damning at this point imo.

Fuck.

Keefe is the new Babcock.

Boobcock, if you will.

All he needs to do now is pull Marner into a room and ask him to make a list of who's underperforming. Promise to keep it secret, buddy.

He had a weakness for big slugs on the back-end too, so he’d probably also love Schenn.

But he was never, ever afraid to play the kids, he let his big horses run and he was masterful at dealing with the refs. And we definitely need all of that.
masterful at dealing with the media too*

Seriously though, I don't know.

Honestly don't think the job is that hard in Toronto. Play the horses and find good linemate fits for them. Play the depth kids and let them grow into their roles, don't be too cute with building your defensive pairs.

You don't have to out coach the rest of the league to win here.

I want Keefe gone as much as anyone else however they all return back to what they know in the end. The cycle of safety net vets will never end

If we had Schenn as our # 6, but Lilly was the new Kaberle playing 21+ minutes a game right out of the gate, you would hear few complaints from me.

funny enough I feel like I'm jumping fences here.

obviously game 1 was a massive shitburger, but at the end of the day, if they win game 2, we're back to square one.

so yeah, I'm still overall skeptical for all the reasons discussed ad nauseam since the trade deadline, but one shitty game doesn't really change much for me. maybe cause it didn't totally surprise me, after the second Tampa goal it mostly felt like, 'well, here we go again'.

anyways, the lesson I've learned this season is that everyone should just listen to @hockeylover.

"shitburger"

I like that. I'm gonna steal it for future use.
