Four Nations, Canada takes on the world

McDavid was the only one that showed up tonight....

Crosby can't keep up...and he's probably still injured

Point should be on McDavid's line....but i have a feeling that Cooper wants Point to stay on 3rd line to play against opposing top lines
Scheifele would’ve provided that board game that McDavid needs while being able to keep up & snipe

and Scheifele is top 15 in NHL scoring....playing as the #1 center on the top team in the NHL

what's the reasoning for not having him there ?

Cooper and his reliance on Lightning players is screwing us as is the "need" to have at least one token Leaf player on the roster. Hyman would have been a better choice than Marner. Scheifele should have been on the team and perhaps Suzuki too. Any of those 3 are better than Marner, Cirilli and Hagel.
none would have beaten up cunt Tkachuk

in any event, the US and its money has surpassed us in hockey, we might win Thursday and next year in Milan but our domination in hockey is done

The USNTDP model can be replicated by Hockey Canada. Maybe it should be, I think that’s the biggest factor, not money or population advantage. Finland has 5 million people.
this country would deem it too "elitist" and we have competing organizations and provincial bodies. The junior leagues would shit.

It should be done bit it likely won't be

It was already hard enough to get American born players to sign in Canada, this spat and booing might make it impossible

USNTDP play “men” in top NCAA Division I, who would Cdn model play, since University hockey really isn’t on par

Then there’s the 8.5x population advantage creating more options to choose from

So these players in the USNTDP would play for let's say Boston College and then travel and compete in tournaments against other D1 teams ?

Totally disagree. Putting the 25 best players together for two full years, playing and practicing together, makes a huge difference in the development of the individual players. There might be a few more top Canadian players with that type of program.
Only need recall the great Soviet development program - Scotty even went w 5-man Soviet line on the ice w Red Wings team

USNTDP as 16 & 17 year olds would play a combo of games vs USHL teams + NCAA games vs Michigan State, Bowling Green University, Minny Duluth etc college teams w avg 20-22 year old men

The top end USNTDP players end up going to top Div I NCAA teams BC, BU, U of Michigan, Maine, Minny etc

D was fine, they handled the US forwards.

Forwards, not so good. Agree the east/west didn’t work, the US was clearly ready for it. Crosby’s errant pass led to the 2nd goal. Should have been more north/south, pucks deep.

Binnington undermines everything.
