Four Nations, Canada takes on the world

this country would deem it too "elitist" and we have competing organizations and provincial bodies. The junior leagues would shit.

It should be done bit it likely won't be
The cost of the equipment, registration, and ice rental alone makes the sport elitist. The way things are going hockey may as well be polo.

Carney played hockey when he was a kid. I'm sure he'll come up with a subsidy to get more kids into hockey after he becomes PM with a comfortable majority

D was fine defensively, but missing Makar, Pietro and Theodore is a big blow in the transition game.

USA is looking all shiny this morning but they barely generated any offense and would have lost or go to OT if not for Binnington.

For sure.

That said, I was skeptical about Parayko but he acquitted himself well defensively. Physical, but in control. He seemed to grow into the game.

As mentioned several times here, the team construction was terrible. They'll point to Theodore and Makar going down to hide behind but the goaltenders picked, Cirelli and Hagel?

Sid should have been on the fourth line for his great D and not on a top line where he's struggling to keep up, there's no transition game to speak of, forward support for pressured D was pretty much non-existent.

The game plan was flawed after the puck-moving D went down.

D was fine, they handled the US forwards.

Forwards, not so good. Agree the east/west didn’t work, the US was clearly ready for it. Crosby’s errant pass led to the 2nd goal. Should have been more north/south, pucks deep.

Binnington undermines everything.
with all that, USA didn't look like the scary pre-tournament favorites....we win this game with Makar-Theodore, and probably Hill/Montembault in net

They didn't have a lot of options for goalies.

Thank God the majority of America doesn't give a shit about hockey, otherwise this would be unbearable.

Hagel is really good, why wouldn't he be on the team?

Cirelli can be questioned...but he's quite good too.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong, individually, with any of these “role” players like Cirelli, Jarvis, Bennett etc but there’s too much of them, like usual.
