Well, Hyman couldn't be doing worse than Marner, regardless of whether Marner possesses more speed. And Hyman might actually finish a play around the net, which is not Marner's game anyway.
Its only two games in, but there needs to be chemistry immediately in a tournament of this type. The fact there isn't much is a problem. Hyman would have had some with McDavid. Also, Reinhart doesn't seem to be blending with anyone either to this point.
Of course If we win the next two games, this will be all just noise.

Actually, if Marner was an Oiler he never would have been selected. We all know why Marner is there and it has nothing to do with whether or not he's a good fit. He's there because there MUST be a Maple Leaf on Team Canada per Rogers Sportsnet. If Marner was a Duck or a Kraken, Tavares would be on Team Canada instead of him.

They picked the teams way too early. If the teams were selected in early/mid January, I think he would have been chosen.

The best result today would be a win in regulation but Binnington sucks, forcing them to start Hill in the final. There’s no chance that Binnington will beat the U.S. in a championship game. None. Hill at least gives you a shot.

How many goals has he scored in games that matter? I mean ffs Cooper has faced him in the playoffs. He has to know how useless Postseason Marner is. Besides which, Hyman plays with McJebus all the time and creates space for him by giong hard to the net. Marner doesn't create shit, and seems unable to take advantage of the space McDavid creates for him. He scored during 3 on 3. Aside from that hes been invisible. He is not built for this kind of hockey.
