It's hard to watch him just clearly not being a big game player time after time. Seeing it next to stone cold assassins on the same team is quite the contrast.

I've never been a huge subscriber to small sample nerdies fwiw.

You have 7 years of nerdies related to how Marner plays in games that matter and you also have the one playoff series win to show for it.

Regular season Marner is elite. Playoff Marner would have to aspire just to be mediocre. So it depends on what you want to spend your money on. Does a team with Matthews, Nylander and Tavares "need" Marner's regular season production to make the playoffs? Probably not. And since he does nothing after Game 82, well, why have him at all unless he's cheap? But Marner isn't cheap. So I don't know why this is even a question.

Trade him.
