Four Nations

"For I detest divorce—said the ETERNAL, the God of Israel—and covering oneself with lawlessness as with a garment—said GOD of Hosts. So be careful of your life-breath and do not act treacherously."

Great. Now that we have that handled:

Donald Trump has been divorced twice, and has admitted to incredible levels of infidelity.

Without getting into all of the other stuff he's done, he's gotta be near the bottom of the pile in godliness on the divorce and infidelity stuff alone, no?

Thing is. If you studied the OT and then compared whats in the NT you would be quite shocked and quickly realize that the NT is not to be trusted. I entered this area of study with an open mind to Christianity. But the evidence is pretty clear that the NT is not trustworthy. Its interesting stuff.
The Old Testament is just a collection of stories passed down verbally over several thousand years. Have you ever heard of the game Telephone? If you're attempting to take it seriously, that's about how reliable it is.

Petty sure Jesus did not teach slander and profanity. Just a thought. Why do I get the feeling neither of you are well versed in The Bible? 🎯
But you've heard Trump be extremely profane. Not just swearing during rallies but on tape talking about grabbing unsuspecting women by the pussy. Talk about profanity.

Slander? That's Trump first language. Constantly accusing the opposition of unthinkable things with no proof of any kind.

How do you reconcile that behavior? Why do you still believe him to be a good person?

He, like the rest of us are human and fallible. We are all a mess really. Of course God does not like what he has done in this regard. But in his defense, he was not raised as a Jew so not as aware of this as an observant Jew should be. Not offering that as a defense mind you. Hopefully he repented of it at some point. On his plus side however is his stalwart support for Israel - which is most likely why he is currently the POTUS.

Wrt support of Israel: Numbers 24:9

"They crouch, they lie down like a lion,
Like a lioness; who dares rouse them?

Blessed are they who bless you,
Accursed they who curse you!"

He, like the rest of us are human and fallible.

This is a pretty significant cop out though. He doesn't try to be anything but deeply fallible. His entire personality is based on embracing fallibility and leaning into it.

He's not like "the rest of us" at all. Any of the rest of us who would have attempted to act like him would be buried underneath the fucking jail by now.

While I understand your point and skepticism, I look at like this:

Axl....Heres an aircraft I built you, now go and fly it (this being Gods Creation). Whats going to happen? Most likely you wouldn't even figure out how to start it, let alone get it into the air. So lets say you did manage to get it airborne - you would crash land and die. Liken that to God flooding the world. Not the best comparison but you get the idea. So now, instead, I'm going to give you an AOI (Aircraft Operating Instructions) (re Bible) and some Instructors (re (Prophets) and as well, because I'm a really nice guy I'll give you some pointers on past flight failures (re The Writings). Odds are your going to do a lot better.

God had to give us instructions. It makes sense. It is how we can live our fullest lives. Btw, God says that all the 1st 5 books (The Torah) were written by Moses - can I prove it - nope. But it is what it is.

Would any of us be good if everything we've done in the past were held against us forever? Hopefully we all learn as we live how to live better with each other. Trump has no lack of faults, but his moral clarity on world affairs is a good thing. He doesn't want war or bloodshed. We are all morons at one time or another.

I'm not arguing. I agree. What you quoted is correct. But you are only getting half the picture. There is this thing called the "Oral Law". This Oral Law fills in things that are missing in detail. For example, God tells us that we can only eat kosher animals/things. But it doesn't tell us how to slaughter them correctly (in the most humane way possible). The Oral Law does. It would also expound on this slavery (I think). From my understanding, which isn't all that expansive, for most, the type of slavery/indentureship of the Jews was a positive given the alternative. I'm not a Rabbi.

I disagree. But that aside, he is playing a pivotal role at the moment. He is not there by accident. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if he dropped dead from a heart attack or assassination. Either way, it doesn't really matter. God has His plan and it will happen, we are just along for the ride. Sit back and just watch, try not to make it personal.

Oh wow. I accidentally jumped into the middle of all this, thought OT was referring to overtime and NT was referring to Northern Territories. Then I got to the word "Christianity" and realized I was too hockey and Canada-centric, perhaps. Sorry. My bad.

Has he ever apologized for any of these things he did? He lost a lawsuit against a women whom a court of law found that he had raped, and instead of apologizing, continued defaming and slandering her publicly. Why would we not continue to hold those things against him when he's never admitted fault in them, shown remorse for committing those acts, etc?

but his moral clarity on world affairs is a good thing.

Moral clarity? By extorting Ukraine? That's moral clarity?

so after all your talk about evil, turns out actually sins aren't bad at all.
