Honoring athletes isn’t unconditional. You get “honored” for 1. being a great athlete and 2. not being, or hiding the fact that you are, an asshole.

Wayne forgot about number 2. So no more love. It’s not complicated.

We honour these guys for the example they provide. Hard work, perserverence, etc, etc. You know we honour other people too right? Other athletes, scientists, politicians. Yes, I think having a minimal level of expectation for how they carry themselves after they've been honoured is actually healthy for a society.

I don't actually care about the road (it isn't even a nice road). I do enjoy that this stuff is raising awareness about Wayne though. Trump talking about it sure didn't help.
