GDT #2: 4/5/22 - May the 4th

Math checks out. Stop taking fucking penalties on the 4th line. Or, better yet, let Spezza play.

I want to kill them with skill and speed next game. Robertson should get a look now, and Spezza in for Simmonds, especially if lunatic Clifford is back in.

He knew the guy fell at the blueline and then he shoulder checked. I was hoping he'd do it.
The shoulder check was the most insane part of it all. He had a clear breakaway and thought "I better see if anyone's open"

Lazy to read through this.

I am hoping this wakes up the coach to ice our best line up going forward. We won’t have last change and it will be so much worse to have the bear or that fourth line on the ice. A lot of went wrong could have been corrected by the coach not trying to play down to their “fourth” line

Insert Sandin, insert Soezza and/or Robertson - off we go.

May the 4th be just an anomaly and the rest of the series see us revert back to unbeatable game 1 Leafs.

That fucking last second goal in the first.

Before that, we were playing like worldbeaters against them. There was no TB hot start. It was a continuation of game 1 with the Leafs all over them in some of the best hockey I've seen all year. That goal cracked the back somehow and they fell apart in the second.

Agreed, when that went in I had a brutal feeling that the game was over.

If only Jack just lunged/pounced forward a bit, he'd have been literally blocking any possible angle for that to go in. Hedman was so close to him, all he had to do was take the space away quick and it was an automatic save.

The only thing I can think is that he didn’t get a good enough look to his right to see that no one was there for Hedman to pass to.

Point was coming in so maybe he was guessing pass there but it was still a poor gamble. Likely wasnt aware of the time remaining also

Just a bad read

Muzzin made a bit of a mess on that one. He played it aggressively and if he didn’t the only chance is a high slot shot from Hedman that Jack is square to.

I think the leafs kinda took their foot off the gas cause of the time and then hit panic mode when the puck got into the slot area.
