Premature sucking is out - mature and post-mature sucking too.
I mean it is trueI'm allowed to say it since I'm not the media...
With each shutout and solid performance Campbell's price tag continues to increase. Hopefully he slumps at some point....
stfu and enjoy the .940 goaltending.I'm allowed to say it since I'm not the media...

Why not both? It's an important discussion to have. I'm not even implying they can't afford him. Just saying that he is so damn good that he can't possibly be cheap.. Which is a good thing! Discussing the cap and fitting money = fun for me and doesn't have to have negative or pessimistic connotation.stfu and enjoy the .940 goaltending.
He ain't pricing them out. But it is a very interesting discussion to have. How much do you give him? It's a bit of a complex setup and could depend on how much he wants and whether Kyle attempts to squeeze him. With each passing game he is increasing his portfolio/sample size enough to justify giving him more and more. Dude has been a stud since day 1 so I'd go pretty high on him on a short-term deal. But maybe going long and keeping the AAV down is the move since he ain't a young pup (which works in the Leafs favor). Tough decision and will be very interesting to see how it plays out. To some of us at least! If he prices himself out by taking us to a cup riding a .940sv% I’m ok with this.
Hoping your starting goaltender slumps so his cap hit next year is less seems very unfun to me.Why not both? It's an important discussion to have. I'm not even implying they can't afford him. Hey I care about the team and want to increase that window as long as possible. If he slumps in the season that would be phenomenal. That's when you start negotiations and pull the trigger on a discounted deal. That is very forward/longterm thinking for the good of the team. Increasing the window and getting Jack locked up at a great AAV = more fun than one season of vezina caliber play for me. It's all about the playoffs.Hoping your starting goaltender slumps so his cap hit next year is less seems very unfun to me.
Let's not do this after every Jack win this year. Don't go full Dreger.
That's another really good point that should hopefully work in the leafs favor. Its ok. Campbell is actually an elite vezina candidate so he’ll never have that rep in Toronto.

7 mil is awesome for what should be a pretty great tandem. And I think Jack at 4 is fucking great so that would be a no brainer for me. The term may be the x-factor for keeping the AAV low. It's a tough decision though because I typically don't love going long on goalies. If Campbell gets decent money(say ~4 per) do we move Mrazek? 7ish mill for a goalie tandem is pricey.
Maybe we finally see a jump in that cap max.
Keep ignoring an obviously very interesting topic, Mr. Homer Simpson.Keep trying, dregs.
