I'd rather have a team with Tavares balls than Wilson balls. Wilson pushing guys after the whistle is only effective if it stops Tavares from doing what he did next, not encourages him to.
Basically, it seems anytime they win the regular season doesn't matter and people will post clips of a Leaf getting knocked down which is supposed to be a big deal I guess. Once they lose though, regular season matters a ton.I’m glad Dubas is nowhere near as emotional as I am watching this team bc the losses are rarer than ever but also seem to magnified more than ever as people look for ways we’re going to lose this time.
Which btw, was absolutely insane, but also the most John Tavares shift ever.
even when he's good he is liable to cause several heart attacks/game just from his fucking positioning adventures alone...Mrazek is just bad.
yup, reffing was brutal. by the end of the third it was full 'playoff hockey' BS. glad to see the boys hang in there.Caps tried to get big and bad, with all sorts of help from the refs, but the Leafs' toughness pushed back and their skill took over.
Nice win.

That list didn’t even mention his tap of the puck out of the air and over to Willy behind the net. Dude is amazing.
He’s fucking amazing. You look and it’s only a 45 second clip, but the work put into that shift should leave a player feeling like they played 2-3 minutes. If I didn’t look at the time, I’d have thought that was 2 minutes at least because he did so much.
Nylander also made a few critical plays there to keep it alive and in the zone. Sort of criminal that he doesn’t end up with an assist on that too.
His skating is interesting. There's times when he's faster than others. Not sure if anyone remembers that OT game either last year or the year before when he chased down a guy all the way from the other end of the rink to tie up his stick just before he got to our goal, and then went back the other way and we (and he?) scored. And this is an improved skating Tavares. Dude used to be completely immobile but he worked his ass off to gain a step in the early years of his career. His summers were entirely dedicated to working on his skating. Just goes to show, you can only improve skating so much.
Who knew a random game in February would cause such a divide in how people perceive the team.
Even the usual sensible ones have gone back to wanting the face punching days
'punching their way out of the playoffs'?And Washington is flirting with barreling right out of the playoffs, no less.
I swear like 20% of fans are just fine with that approach...bewildering.'punching their way out of the playoffs'?
