GDT #54: Feb 3 7:00 - Leafs v Panthers

For fuck sake, that was annoying as fuck to watch. Disastrous result when the game was firmly in hand.

Fucking Hutch. Just when you thought maybe he gained some confidence and could actually be a dependable backup, he shows us that was all a mirage and that he is fucking atrocious. Imagine this guy in net against the Bruins. I honestly shudder. That was such an awful performance, wasted the efforts of the other 18 guys on the ice. Send him down, or out, or wherever other than here.

I suppose we don't have a Binnington we can call up?

The Leafs looked dominant last night, Matthews was playing like he was possessed, and it all gets thrown away because Hutch can't make a god damn save.

Pretty tough, but like Keefe said, we played a good game. Normally we would win. Learn and move on.

this organisation has been so bad at drafting goalies its painful..
the only legit #1 goalie we have drafted since Felix was Tuukka...

We drafted Tuukka and then Reimer the next year.... That could have been our #1 & #2 for the next 10+ years

yea but its extremely problematic that too often the "normally we would win" when we didnt is cause of incredibly incompetent goaltending... The soft goals against ... not going to tell me those arent total team deflaters.. that HAS to get into their heads....
you can't be a championship team without having confidence in your goalie....

I remember people here, I didn't know yay or nay, so I said nothing, that Doug Armstrong was a total failure.

But guess what some guy he drafted by fluke, plied his craft and bailed the guy out,a and probably has solidified, Armstrong's financial future.

Goalies, goalies, goalies. I have said that fairly often, but not often enough,

But if you have the privilege of talking to Don Cherry for five minutes, which I have, only once. He says you are only as good as your goalie.

Every hockey player in the NHL now is gud, real gud. And a real gud coach can get them going.

But how many gud goalies are there? Maybe ten?

We had a potential Binnington in Ian Scott. But the poor kid, foof, be less than 50% if he becomes anything. Its what it is.

Draft more and get more.
