GDT #6: 2024/10/21 TOR v TB: The Old and Improved Bolts - ON AMAZON PRIME ONLY

Yeah, a scope isn't much to worry about. They're usually just maintenance and clean up from a bit of wear and tear to prevent chronic inflammation becoming a problem. It's the 2 years of his career and the surgeries that are the durability concern imo. All it takes is running him a little ragged once, a little bit too much fatigue from too heavy a workload and a single bad movement and it's over. He's almost 31 and he's 6'6 240. That's a lot of human to move around. We should be running a pretty strict tandem.

- The "lower body" injury in 2023 was having his knee scoped...same knee
- 'rona in 2022
- More issues with the same knee, no surgery just rest and rehab
- Sept 2017 Knee surgery for a meniscus tear, same knee
- April 2017 Knee surgery for a MCL tear

how long was he out for those last two "lower body" injuries?

The scope in 2023 was season ending, played his last game the beginning of Feb, but didn't have the surgery until March. Looks like he tried to rehab it instead because he was a pending UFA and ended up needing the clean up. The 2018 "lower body" injury was 6 weeks.

i do want to say that while patches' goal was weak by Vasi....patches is a goalscorer and did snipe top corner roof exactly where he wanted to.

Leafs seem to have Vasi's number as much as any other team, weirdly.

Kinda like Lundqvist, for whatever reason...

The Lundqvist thing was so deeply weird. His career is one of the longest, most consistent runs of dominance by a classic #1 goalie as we’ve seen in the last 30-40 years. And the Leafs had some real dumpster fire teams throughout that career.

Yet they always seemed to light him up like a Christmas tree year after year.

Doesn’t seem like that’s extended to Shitsturkey though, unfortunately.
