Yeah Nylander looked Marner caliber earlier but he just can't string together a consistent season. That's what sets him and the true 9+ million dollar wingers apart. Thought he was gonna do it this year but his impacts have been bad for awhile even if the noisy counting stats still look quite good thanks to being on pp1.

It’s funny because that’s usually the complete opposite of nylander - counting stats aren’t there but the nerdies make you hard in anticipation.

Tavares is fine. Nylander is literally a fourth liner the past few weeks.

Thats why I'm assuming injury...all of the things he usually does, he's just not doing, but looks fine and like nylander in open ice. Hes always been a bit soft, but nothing even close to this

I love this team but there's been one key glaring thing that should be better based on the personnel but just hasn't been. It's the second line. Every game the Matthews line dominates, the Kampf line dominates. There's no reason why a line with Tavares and Nylander on it (often getting secondary matchups) should not be one of the teams biggest strengths. The team would be unstoppable.

yep. They get ozone starts almost exclusively against 2nd and 3rd lines. They should be owning it.
