Why do we want Konecny?

Dude makes 5.5 million and has scored at a ~15 goal pace over the last 2 seasons. Hard fucking pass. He's everything the Toronto media has tried to pretend Nylander was.

That's the point of the deal, all of the players taken in that rough area of the draft are more or less equivalent in career value and you're trying to broaden the chance of landing a good one.

The BPA at the time was Konecny. I could take him or leave him really, but the point is, we shat the bed with the 3 picks.

Had Glasses had full oversight of that draft, I think we might’ve done better.

Which again, kind of tells us that taking 3 shots at it is better than just settling for the BPA on the board. Trust the process. Whenever someone is willing to offer up excess value for a draft slot, take it.
 
Despite these hypothetical outcomes, The point I’m trying to make is that we lost these 2015 draft day trades.
