GDT: Canadiens @ Washington Capitals - Sat Dec 26, 2015 - 7:00 pm ET

look you are right, but in a such a protective quebec societe of its own, its a fair point to take into consideration.
To me, he should have been fired today. I cant accept the oh it is ok if we lose, we played well.
I find it funny how they sold us on this team being "no excuse/pas d'excuse", while all i am hearing is excuses.

??

His RDS l'Antichambre colleagues have turned o him/ ripping MT a new one after every game in Dec. Same with the Franco press. Not sure where this protectionism u talk about exists, if anything due to the LaPresse article, and Franco journalists recent reactions, MB/Habs have the ammo needed to dump him & come out smelling like a rose PR-wise.

The questions (rightfully so) everyone has is who is out there that can step in.

I can think of 3 off the top off my head: Boucher, Sly L. or Crawford.

Next you'll suggest Randy Carlyle.

Can we poach Gallant out of Florida? Oh wait.

Benoit Groulx?

Benoit Groulx?

Another rookie? That's the problem, this team needs a seasoned vet, who's a bench management & tactical specialist based on where they're at. A Julien, Babcock or Quenneville type - none of whom are presently available, that's the real issue.

Le-Fever really? Crawford really? How are either of these options any better than MT? Boucher might be default, he at least is "different" in his skill set: communication capability, tactical in nature, and knows/personally oversaw development of a few of the present Habs roster - Subban, MaxPac, DD.

I don't agree. Teams do not make in-season coaching changes based on who's available. They make them primarily to alter the dynamic in the locker room. BTW, Boucher came within one game of the SCF in his rookie season, and PK apparently loves him as a coach. Or bring up Sly on an interim basis and see how he does the rest of the season and then decide what to do long-term.

I mentioned Boucher as being defacto, he also never had goaltending in TBay...

Gimme Fever would be a terrible choice IMO - how many playoffs?

You are missing my point. When the house is burning down, you worry about putting out the fire, not the design for the remodel. My priority now is to get MT out before he completely burns down the house.

You worry about fixing the problem

When the team has quit and is constantly being outworked... you worry about the coach.

When the team constantly outplays the opposition but doesn't bury chances... its a sniper we need, not a coach. A new coach isn't going to help them hit the back of the net.

Missing my point, u bring in a firefighter like Cunneyworth (Sly), when you've moved all ur expensive furniture/valuables out, and are looking to only collect from insurance (tank nation). Knowing full well in a couple of months ull be moving into a sprawling new pad with a freebie or two (top pick)

But, but peanut McGuire said the game plan against the Preds stunk because all of their offense comes from the defense and the Habs didnt neutralize that.

Also, if you think about it, the other teams goalies havent been forced to make a lot of outrageous saves. So have the scoring opportunities been that good?

Making an outrageous save is more about the goalie being out of position than about the quality of the chance.

The fact is we are getting chances from high danger areas.
