Another chance to put pressure on the Rangers.

The game on Friday was ragged at times but Andersen was there to bail them out when things broke down. He's been excellent since returning, 1.30/.951 in 10 games. RBA gave 4 regulars off and Scott Morrow made his NHL debut and played well. All 4 that didn‘t play on Friday practiced yesterday, but Burns and all 3 of Aho’s line didn’t. Could we see Nadeau and Blake tonight? Expect Kochetkov in goal.

The Blackhawks have once again embraced the tank. It’s still possible for them to finish DFL, they’re 4 points ahead of the Sharks, but they could also catch the Ducks for 30th. They’re 4-6 in their last 10, losers of 3 straight. Connor Bedard has been as advertised, he leads with 22 goals and 38 assists, nearly a point per game. But there is nothing behind him. Philipp Kurashev is the onky other player with more than 40 points. Jason Dickinson has 22 goals and there are only 4 others in double figures. They also have 4 guys in the bottom 10 in plus/minus, with Kurashev and Bedard both worse than -40 and a chance to overtake Filip Zadina. In goal, Petr Mrazek earned himself a contract extension at 3.07/.908 in 54 games. He’s backed up by Arvid Soderblum who is at 3.88/.881. The Blackhawks are DFL in goals per game at a paltry 2.16 and 29th in goals against. They’re 29th on the PP and 23rd on the PK.

Bally Sports South for TV.

Staal, Pesce and Chatfield back in the lineup, Teravainen is out. Neither Blake or Nadeau are in the lineup and I can’t imagine that Morrow is either. Kochetkov in goal.

Tonight was Kochetkov’s 23rd win. That's as many as the Blackhawks have all season.
Remarkable bounce-back from what was just a terrible start to the season for Kochetkov. He's gotten himself back above league average save percentage and his goals saved above expected has stuck in positive territory even with a few down games getting absorbed. I still have no idea what to expect out of him season to season, but hey ... he battled back this time.

The one thing I noticed is he’s not playing as deep in the crease as he had been.
