The Canes try to right the ship after a disaster in LA.

RBA said post game that Jarvy “looks alright”. "You never when they wake up the next day, but I think we avoided the worst." So we’ll see. Slavin also didn’t play the last 8 minutes of the game, I wonder if he has the bug that’s running through the room. Andersen in goal.

The Ducks are scraping along just below NHL .500 with 68 points in 69 games. They’re 4-5-1 in their last 10 but have won 3 of their last 4 and are coming off a win against Nashville on Thursday. Frank Vatrano leads with 20 goals, they have 7 others with at least 10. Trevor Zegras isn’t one of them, he has 8 goals in 44 games, missing 6 weeks in December and January after surgery on a torn meniscus. Troy Terry leads with 32 assists. In goal, Lukas Dostal has started 40 games and is at 2.96/.908. He’s backed up by future Hurricane John Gibson at 2.75/.913. The Ducks are 27th in goals per game, 21st in goals against. Special teams are bad, 31st on the PP, 28th on the PK.

OK ... so, two bug/virus/whatever outbreaks in one season is weird, right? Still couldn't come at a better time, really. Get it out of the way while you've got a healthy margin over a Devils team that has a million injuries and has forgotten how to hold a lead. And they're so far behind Washington it's not like they're catching them for 1st in the division either. Just get it flushed out in time to get going again before the playoffs.

I like orange. It's one of my favorite colors. But that Ducks uniform is NOT orange. How many colors has that team burned through since they expanded? This looks like a club hockey game, the uniforms are so terrible! That's the color baby poo after they eat two jars or carrot baby food.

First half of that game was kind of sus, but the boys built up a nice game and looked great in the 3rd. Thank goodness for Freddie for holding down the fort until the guys in front of him got their game together. Oh, and Extend Taylor Hall now! (him and KK look dang good together)

Of course we have no idea what Taylor Hall and his agent are asking for in terms of a contract extension. I take the statements about 'wanting to find a team to stay with' and 'excited to be on a playoff bound team again' as basic player speak and nothing more. If he is willing to take 2 years at $5ish million AAV, he probably gets that contract here. If he is asking for 3+ years at $6+ million AAV, he likely is going to need to find that somewhere else.

We have cap room available and certainly could use a 2nd line winger going forward. Hall seems to be settling in nicely now, so I'm definitely not averse to signing him as long as his ask doesn't get nutty.
