The Canes kick off a 3 games in 4 nights tour of the Metro.
The Canes look to extend their winning streak to 3 games. They haven’t played particularly well in either of their last 2 wins but they outscored the Sens and Blues by a combined 8-1. Necas remained hot, on a 13 game point streak. Eric Robinson had a 3 point night and has exceeded last year’s goals and points totals. Jarvis practiced in a yellow jersey yesterday but RBA wasn’t sure if he’d travel. With a back to back, we’ll see both goalies over the next 2 days. The Canes won’t skate this morning so we’ll have to wait for RBAs pre game presser.
The Flyers are climbing back up the standings, 6-3-1 in their last 10. They’re coming off a loss to the Avs on Monday that broke a 5 game point streak. Travis Konecny leads with 11 goals and 12 assists. Rookie Matvei Michkov is 2nd in both categories. In goal, the Flyers placed Samuel Ersson on IR, so they’re going with Ivan Fedotov and Alexei Kolosov. Fedotov has gotten most of the action but Kolosov took the loss against the Avs, it was his first start since losing to the Canes 2 weeks ago. Their numbers are similar, with a GAA in the 3.65 range and save % around .870. The Flyers are 20th in goals per game, 29th in goals against. The PP is 19th but the PK is very good, 4th in the league, just ahead of the Canes.
Note the different start time tonight. TNT and MAX for TV.
