GDT: Canes @ Habs 3/24 7:00

Some of the most sloppy hockey I've seen in a while. Too many panic passes to the wrong team. Getting out hustled at every turn. Zero scoring chances in between the circles. Every shot from way downtown. Defense out of position regularly.
 
I was today years old when I learned that True Temper also makes goalie sticks. Saw the HZRDUS logo on Anderson's stick. I knew them from golf shafts.

Canes have 3 players using True sticks; Andersen, Bussi and Deslauriers. Andersen and Kochetkov use True skates, all 3 goalies use True pads, glove and blocker.

I’ll have to look through my collection, but I don’t think I have any True sticks at all. I think I have a Sean Burke Brian’s and the rest are CCM and Bauer. I have a Patrick Roy Koho that’s my favorite and a Heaton signed by the entire 1997 Crapitals team.

In the last 5 games, the Canes have been outscored 15-6 in regulation at even strength. It appears we’re being goalied by everyone.

But they’re 3-2 in the last 5, on the strength of special teams. The Canes have 6 PP goals, 2 shorties, 2 OT winners, and a penalty shot. They’ve allowed 3 goals on the PK and no shorties.

I'm not buying the "hot goalie" BS. Why is every goalie the Canes face having his best night? It's not the goalie. It's an ineffective system that's been studied and countered. It's a system that needs bigger stronger players to make it more effective. It's players content to shoot at the logo all night. Or 8ft wide.

We had plenty of opportunities to score last night and didn't. Their goalie was good, ours wasn't good enough. I thought that after we killed the 5 on 3 PK, it would give us a boost - instead the Habs became more energized and they stayed that way for the rest of the game.

I can’t speak to other games but last night Dobeš was darn good and finished with a 0.953 save % and the shots were not all easy.

In other words, last night you got goalied.

How do you explain this season’s overall results to this point? We don’t have multiple first pick in the draft players, only a single second pick in the draft (and KK.) and yet.

We’re third in the league in Goals. How can that be remotely described as “an ineffective system that’s been studied and countered”?

Because Bussi was the hot goalie. The Canes aren't going to win many games scoring one or two goals. I'm just sick of hearing he bullshit excuse off "hot goalie" every time the Canes can't put pucks in the net. The goalie didn't outhustle them to lose pucks in the corners. The goalie didn't stack the Canes up at the blueline or force shitty shot attempts from the blueline.

We’re not third in the league in goals because Bussi was the hot goalie.
