GDT: Canes @ Red Wings 12/14 7:30

PK Overall played fine.. didn't play that one goal against well nor that tun over but he saved the resultant shot.

While some of you were whining about the Kane talk, did you manage to hear all the good things Levy and Weeksie said about the Canes, our coach, the playoff atmosphere in Raleigh, etc.?

I was to busy whining about Kane. I heard about how we have a soon to be free agent coach who’s going to draw a lot of interest.

Weekes has been beating the drum for RBA in the Hall of Fame for years. He’s probably the only national voice doing so.

OK, announcers aside, because I expect the worst and continue not to care when I get it ... I was encouraged that the Hurricanes actually played better than the previous game in two consecutive outings for the first time in weeks. Strong tipping of the deserve to win-o-meter, big pressure from the first line, decent puck stopping from the goalie, relatively stable decision making on the back end ... just a strong road showing. Yeah, I still wish somebody could talk Kochetkov out of playing the puck like a lunatic and I wish Jarvis and Kotkaniemi had found the net on some of those gold plated chances, but hey. Solid road W. No complaints.

Good game, glad the boys came away with the win; almost more glad that "Patty" Kane was blanked because he's just a terrible person.

How can you say that about the finest human being ever to lace em up? They’re a lock for the Cup if he stays healthy!!

Outside of the fact that the Canes simply have to start finishing more of those grade A chances in close, to salvage that roadie with two straight wins after losing four straight is a tidy bit of business to stay in the mix. That Calgary third period stinkfest really is the one you want back and I thought the Jets game they deserved to win. Hopefully the home cooking is good for the Canes.
