Well, to be honest, that seems likely. I don't think it will work--Rod has been pretty clear that he doesn't want to leave Raleigh--but it's hard to argue with such speculation. They also ranted about Brindy being a FA this summer and made it sound like a ton of teams were gonna throw vaults of cash at him.
Yeah ... I'm with you. I thought we'd at least get more vigorous stuff from ESPN but I forgot how lazily they treat pretty much everything that isn't a marquee draw on that network. So we get ridiculous crap like Buci doing play by play and color people who get away getting names wrong ... it's NBC all over again with different voices. But those networks are just living up to the league they're covering and the price point of their contracts. They're producing little better than regional team broadcasts because they're mostly using regional personnel and spending a regional budget. In most cases if ESPN and TNT would just flip the RSN booths (road crew covers the home team, etc to cut down the homer crap) then they've probably have a superior broadcast WAY more frequently than people would think. Not because they hate your team, but because they're the C team at their respective networks.Look, I think ESPN's hockey coverage is mediocre, but I find the criticism tinged with the idea that they have a bias against the Canes to be tiresome and inaccurate. Everybody jumps on the things their annoucers say that are negative and seems to ignore the positive things they talk about. The expressions of victimhood are boring to read through.
