Can the Canes put a miserable performance behind them, as they face another projected bad team?

Rod put the top 2 lines in the blender, swapping Aho and KK and swapping Necas for Burns on the PP. Both PP units scored, with Turbo continuing his torrid start with a blast from just inside the blue line, while Necas tipped in a pass across the goal line from Bunting. Is it time to apply the same logic to the defensive pairings? Will Chatfield see the ice before the team returns to Raleigh?

Like the Ducks, the Sharks are expected to be a bottom feeder. They’re 0-1-1 so far, losing to the Kings and losing to the Avs in a shootout but holding them off the scoresheet until Makar scored with 1:26 left and an empty net. They’ve only scored 2 goals in their 2 games. Mackenzie Blackwood had 51 saves against the Avs. The Sharks acquired him from the Devils for a 6th round pick in June.

Bally Sports South for TV.

Be patient with Orlov and insert Chatfield. Tony D is here for his offense only and will not be with this team long term.

Projected lines per Walt Ruff. One of the guys with an asterisk won’t play. Andersen in goal.

Teravainen - Aho - Necas
Bunting - Kotkaniemi - Jarvis
Martinook - Staal - Fast
Lemieux* - Drury - Noesen

Slavin - Burns
Skjei - Pesce
Orlov - DeAngelo*
Chatfield*

Nobody got back to cover Slavin’s rush. Are teams specifically blowing the zone when one of our defensive minded D rushes the puck or pinches?

Andersen takes a shot between the eyes and trainer Doug Bennett gives him the hook. Raanta in.
