GDT: Canes v. Slugs 2/27 7:00

And UPL was pissed.. I sit right behind that side of their bench and he had some angry words for the bench and what looked like in Ruff's direction.
I wondered why he skated to the bench instead of straight down the tunnel

Shoutout to N&O Luke for the intentional UPL typos in the recap:
The Sabres looked unprepared for the fury the surly Hurricanes would certainly bring back home with them, and Lindy Ruff seemed to acknowledge as much with a mercifully quickk hookk for Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen only eight minutes in, sending former Hurricanes goalie James Reimer out to absorb the onslaught.

It was very strange seeing UPL get such a quick hook like that. Lindy Ruff clearly has no solutions for Buffalo this time around. They looked like a complete mess out there defensively and had no flow or plan or much of anything offensively tonight. That is odd, because that team has shown they can explode for a lot of goals (ie the 8 goals like they scored against the Rangers the other night). I know a lot of the issues Buffalo had tonight is just playing the Canes, but man, they looked terrible tonight.

Saw in a write up that Carolina was 17-3-1 against Buffalo in their last 21 games. Ouch.

It was the kind of win the Hurricanes needed with key contributions for stars & leaders. More of that please.

Slugs haven’t won in Raleigh since 2016. That’s 11 straight losses.

Nice to feel good and walk away from the arena with a much-needed win. Nothing makes a disgruntled fan take a step back from the precipice like a resounding win. I should know because I was inching closer to the edge myself.

Maybe we should do more Whaler nights - we certainly have played well in all of them.
