It’s the last edition of Canes After Dark…for 12 days.

In the most recent edition, the Canes dismantled the Kraken 4-1. Svech got it going with a power play goal, the 5th straight game with one of those. Drury had his 1st of the season off an inch perfect pass from Blake, for his first assist. Jarvis undressed Daccord on a breakaway and Orlov finished it with an empty netter from Pike Place. Andersen was beaten only by a McCann breakaway, after denying him earlier. The team didn’t practice yesterday, they’ll have a skate at 11:30 PT. But the lines should stay intact and we should see Kochetkov in goal.

The Canucks have won 4 straight after dropping their first 3. Only 1 of those was against a quality team, they beat Florida to kick off the streak. They’ve also beaten Chicago, Philly and the sad, sad Penguins. JT Miller and Brock Boeser each have 4 goals, Quinn Hughes has 5 assists. Thatcher Demko is still out with an injury to his popliteus muscle (Google it). Kevin Lankinen has stepped in and has started the last 4 games. His last time out was the only hairball in the streak, allowing 3 goals on 24 shots. He’s at 1.93/.930 for the season. He’s backed up by last year’s playoff hero Arturs Silovs, who hasn’t been good in his 2 starts, 4.50/.827.

Fan Duel for TV.

Lankinen has had some solid outings against the Hurricanes in the past, so he'll probably be feeling good if he gets the crease. It would be his 5th start in a row, but the schedule hasn't been too tight and Silovs has been awful so he's probably in net tonight. Vancouver is a weird bunch. They aren't really built for the rough stuff, but seem to play better when things are a little unhinged. Other than Hughes and Hronek, their D is basically stationary, so Carolina should able to find some space to do their recycle game. It's a pretty good matchup so long as the Canes can get some shots to drop.

These late games are taking a toll. I feel like I'm auditioning for a role in a Walking Dead series.

Canucks are a tough out, if the Canes manage to sneak this one out tonight and take four straight wins on the always tough western swing they are going to be feeling really good with their season to date with that always difficult state fair extra long roadie now in their rear view mirror...

Vancouver always seems to be a weird game with the Canes I feel like. The boys have been flying, and are playing like one of the top teams in the league. Should be a good tilt, think the Canes keep the streak going.

That first line is always a tough matchup for Carolina, especially on the road when the Canucks can pick their spots.

This is how Vancouver skated this morning. Looks like Lankinen in goal too.

If you haven’t seen/heard it, Arshdeep Bains scored his first NHL goal against the Penguins, here is the call in Punjabi. He’s the 4th Punjabi to play in the NHL. That also means we don’t have to worry about a guy scoring his first goal tonight. ;-)

A reminder that at .300, the Canes winning percentage at Rogers Arena is the worst among all active buildings that they've played in at least 20 times.

Miller goes around Burns, Kochetkov loses his stick, Boeser scores from the high slot.
