OK, let's get this over with.
The NY Rangers come to town with a cornucopia of woes, to a building where they should feel pretty comfortable. It's become quite chic lately in the hockey press to call the Rangers frauds, as their record is practically stuffed with bad losses to good teams and wins over the dregs of the standings. Their front office is playing games with their veteran players in the press and the only forward line that seems to be hitting on anything right now is Will Cuylle's 3rd unit. Shesterkin is taking heat as well, despite most of his problems being caused by a lack of support. It's only a matter of time before Lavi's seat starts heating up, if it hasn't already. Team Angst.
Meanwhile the Canes are all vibes all the time this season. They haven't lost back to back games yet, have shrugged off a string of injuries and boast the league's leading point producer in Marty Necas. Oh, and Sebastian Aho seems to be kicking into gear after a lukewarm start. Let's face it. It's too early for a trap game, but this will be a mental test for Carolina none the less. Even limping, the Rangers are as dangerous as they come and Shesterkin remains kryptonite to Carolina scorers. Better sharpen the knives tonight, boys.
It's the home blacks for the Canes tonight as they're saving the red unis for Black Friday for some reason. Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone. If you're brining the turkey, it's time to get it in the bucket.
